Coaching.
Everyone knows what it is. We see coaches on the football field, the
tennis court, in every sport. There are voice coaches, dance coaches,
and coaches in almost every kind of specialized endeavor. But what about
personal and professional coaching for life itself? For individuals who
want to transform the way they do business, or seek changes in their
professional or personal paths?
The
International Coach Federation (ICF) defines coaching “an
ongoing professional relationship that helps people produce
extraordinary results in their lives, careers, businesses or
organizations. Through the process of coaching, clients deepen their
learning, improve their performance, and enhance their quality of life.
In
each meeting, the client chooses the focus of conversation, while the
coach listens and contributes observations and questions. This
interaction creates clarity and moves the client into action. Coaching
accelerates the client's progress by providing greater focus and
awareness of choice. Coaching concentrates on where clients are now and
what they are willing to do to get where they want to be in the future.
ICF member coaches and ICF credentialed coaches recognize that results
are a matter of the client's intentions, choices and actions, supported
by the coach's efforts and application of the coaching process.”
As
an ICF Master Certified Coach I facilitate exploration in areas like
Ø
Greater satisfaction, fulfillment and happiness
Ø
More productivity
Ø
Creating desired business and personal relationships
Ø
Increasing balance between professional and personal life
Ø
Identifying and catching the brass ring
Ø
Improving the bottom line
Ø
Increasing personal responsibility for creating exactly
the results you want
Ø
Creating the structure needed to achieve those results
Ø
Empowering one’s self and others to go for and get the
gold
I
encourage clients to think about an initial 3-month commitment to
coaching. In the first
month, it’s not uncommon for clients to think coaching is the best
thing since sliced bread. In
the second month some clients can become a bit discouraged when it hits
home that coaching will require effort on their part.
In the third month most clients hit their stride as they fully
appreciate what they can accomplish with effort.
